IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Walter "Wally-B"
Bates
May 14, 1946 – February 28, 2020
Walter D. Bates aka Wally-B, 73 of Southbury, owner of Wally-B Welding passed away peacefully at home Friday Feb 28, 2020 with his wife Cindy holding his hand.
Wally and Cindy were a "cup and saucer couple", you would rarely see one without the other. Wally was Cindy's "Honey Buns" and Cindy was Wally's "Sweetie Pie".
The two of them met in 1983, built their home in 1988 and were married on the "deck with the view" on July 1, 1990 and vowed "until death do we part".
Besides Wally's wife Cindy, he leaves behind daughter Pamela and her husband Rich Marchetti Jr., granddaughter Reanna and grandson Jesse.
His eldest daughter Christine passed in 1986 and brother Warren in 1981.
Cindy and family would like to thank the Waterbury Hospital I.C.U and dietary dept. who went above and beyond. Wally was so grateful for all they did for him during his 2 ½ week stay.
Cindy and family would also like to thank Dr. Chang and staff at Smilow Cancer Center in Waterbury for their love, compassion, and hard work to fight this terrible disease.
Wally wishes were to have no services. He wants to let you know to make sure you hug the people you cherish and tell them "I love you". Don't go to bed mad or leave for work mad. Life is too short. The cup is gone but the saucer must go on.
