SOUTHBURY, CT --- W. Craig Barber, 87, of East Hill Woods and Madison, CT, died Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Chittenden) Barber.
Mr. Barber was born in Waterbury on July 1, 1920 a son of the late Walter L. Barber, Jr. M.D. and Kathleen (Johnston) Barber and had lived in Wolcott for many years and Watertown before moving to Southbury over four years ago. Mr. Barber was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and received the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with 5 Service Stars. He had been an accountant with Scovill Manufacturing Company and later worked with Waterbury Paper Delivery Co.
He was an active, longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Waterbury where he had been the clubs' secretary for over 40 years and was a past President and Board Member. Mr. Barber was also a recipient of the Hixon Fellowship through Kiwanis. He had been a member of the Watertown Congregational Church and a member of its' Men's Club. He had been active in the Boy Scouts of America, having received the Order of the Beaver. In his earlier days, he enjoyed tennis and had always enjoyed traveling. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Watertown Congregational Church, 40 DeForest St., Watertown. Members of the Waterbury Kiwanis will meet at the church at 10: 45.
