Vivienne R. Mendyk, a cherished wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on May 18, 2026, at the age of 82. She was the beloved spouse of Louis Mendyk, with whom she shared a wonderful journey of love for over 54 years.

Born on May 30, 1943, in Derby, Connecticut, Vivienne was the daughter of the late Wolfgang J. and Helen (Taylor) Dee. She graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport and later worked as an assembler at Bryant Electric, showcasing her dedication and strong work ethic.

Vivienne's life was defined by her warmth and passion for adventure. She resided in Bridgeport, Danbury, Palm Bay, Florida, and Newtown before settling in Woodbury, where she became an integral part of her community. She served on the Board of Directors for the Kohanza Condominiums, reflecting her commitment to making her home a welcoming place for all. 

An avid lover of animals, Vivienne cherished her cats and delighted in the serenity of kayaking. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore breathtaking destinations, including Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, and various spots in Florida, creating lasting memories along the way. 

Vivienne is survived by her loving husband, Louis, and their wonderful grandchildren: Denetria, Marcus, Christopher, Manfred, and Margaret Eady. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Jordan, London, Brooklynn, Jasiyah, and Micah, whose lives she touched with her laughter and affection. She is further survived by her dear sister, Jeannine Bogus. In addition to her parents, 

Vivienne was predeceased by her son, Brock E. Eady, as well as her sisters Monica, Leonita, and Maxine, and her brothers Eric, Manfred, and Winston. She holds a special place in the hearts of all who knew her, and her absence will be profoundly felt. 

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 4 to 6 PM. at the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, located at 2 School Street, Woodbury.
