VIRGINIA "GINNY" L. SMITH
SOUTHBURY- Ms. Virginia " Ginny" Lee Smith, 68, of Southbury, Connecticut and Belleair, Florida died Friday September 28th at her home in Heritage Village.
Virginia was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 4, 1943, daughter of the late William H. and Lenore Smith.
After graduating from Teaneck (NJ) High School, Virginia graduated from the Latin American Institute of New York City in 1963; gaining an associate's degree as a multi-lingual (Spanish & French) legal secretary. Her professional career took her to New York City, New York, Allentown, New Jersey and Ridgefield, Connecticut as she worked for a variety of pharmaceutical companies
Virginia's great passions included gourmet cooking, traveling the world and reading.
She leaves her son, Robert Makowski and his wife Stephanie of Watertown, Connecticut; a sister Angela Georgiadis and her husband George of Jackson Heights, New York; two grandchildren Ella and Ryan Makowski and two nephews Alex and Chris Georgiadis.

Funeral: St. Thomas the Apostle
Services: A private mass will be held Friday, October 5th at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford, Connecticut.
Visitation: Calling hours will be 5-7: 30pm, Thursday, October 4th at Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, Connecticut.
