Southbury- Virginia Earing, 100, passed away on January 31, 2023 at Maplewood in Newtown, CT. She was the loving wife of 53 years to the late Paul L. Earing.

Ginny, as she was lovingly called, was born on January 20, 1923 in Great Neck, NY to the late Ralph and Cecilia (McAndrew) Lieb. Ginny served as a member of the WAVES division of the U.S. Navy during World War II, stationed in Hawaii. After the service, she started what would be a long career in the Half Hallow Hills School system, as an administrator. Ginny also spent her free time as a volunteer in Democratic Party Politics for many years, including after her move to Heritage Village at the age of 87.  She was beloved for her spirited personality, great sense of humor, and zest for life.

Ginny is survived by her 4 children – Joan Roberts, Barbara Earing, Patricia Magida, and Paul Earing, and their spouses Joseph Roberts, Frank Viscuse, Matthew Magida, and Christine Somma. She was grandmother to 8 grandchildren – the late Anthony Browne, the late Jermaine Browne, Matthew Viscuse (wife, Max), Mark Viscuse (fiancé, Katie), Jane Magida, Samuel Magida (wife, Danielle), Max Earing, and Jake Earing - as well as two great granddaughters, Denise and Olivia.
