Obituary

Viola Rose Barrett Greaney Kearney, 104, died peacefully September 26, 2008 in her home in Heritage Village in Southbury surrounded by her devoted caregivers. She was born on May 26, 1904, the daughter of Clarence and Annie (Saunders) Barrett. She was educated in the Stamford school system and was the owner and proprietor of the Barrett Book Store in Stamford, CT, 388 Main St. She was the director and board member of the American Book Sellers Association and a most capable and experienced business woman.
Viola was married to Joseph Greaney, and Michael Kearney who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving niece, Carolyn Stetler of New York and three devoted grandnieces, Katherine Martin of Maryland, Susan Sturges of Virginia and Diane Robinson of Texas, and her grandnephew, Edwin Allen III of Florida.

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: A memorial service is planned for Thursday October 9, 2008 at 11: 30am at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial will take place in the spring at the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery, Stamford.
