Obituary

Formerly of Woodbury -
Mr. Vincent James Mirabilio, 79, of Oldsmar, Florida passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side January 18, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Alice (Tiso) Mirabilio.
Mr. Mirabilio was born February 25, 1927 in Waterbury son of the late Vincent James Sr. and Marianna (Paolini) Mirabilio. He grew up in the Town Plot area of Waterbury before enlisting in the US Navy in 1944 at 17 years old. He proudly served our country in World War II aboard the USS Dixie and USS Astoria. After returning from the service he married the love of his life and began a family. He then founded Town and Country Glass Co. in Woodbury in 1971 and moved to Woodbury shortly after where he then resided for 25 years. Alice and Vinny co-owned the business until their retirement in 1987, turning the business over to their eldest son who still owns it today.
He was a volunteer of the Woodbury Ambulance Association for many years and was once president of the Woodbury Business Association. He was an avid golfer and loved his crossword puzzles
Besides his loving wife of 56 years he is survived by two sons, Vincent Mirabilio and his wife Cheryl of Bethlehem and David Mirabilio and his wife Frances of Woodbury, a brother Joseph Mirabilio of Brooksville, FL, four grandchildren, Danielle, Jamie, Alicia, and David Mirabilio, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by five brothers and two sisters.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday January 23rd at St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury at 10am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be at Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St, from 4:00 - 8:00pm on Monday January 22nd. The family asks that memorial contributions be made in his name to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 2675 Tampa Road Palm Harbor, FL 34684.
