IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vicki L
(Horn) Reid
January 29, 1948 – March 6, 2021
Vicki L. Reid of Bethlehem, loving wife of Paul Reid for 55 years, passed into eternal rest on Saturday March 6, 2021 at home, in the loving arms of her family after a courageous battle against diabetes, Parkinson's disease and dementia.
Vicki was born on January 29, 1948 in Rochester, NH, the daughter of the late Arnold and Catherine Horn. Vicki attended Spaulding High School in Rochester and later attended Mattatuck Community College in Waterbury. She worked providing compassion and care for others in the medical field, having spent 23 years at New Milford Hospital in the laboratory and cancer center before retiring in 2010.
In retirement, Vicki and Paul enjoyed world travel, spending time at the family camp on Great East Lake in Maine, and tending to their many gardens. She also loved spending time with family and friends, attending her beloved grandson's school and sporting events while helping with his care and nurturing.
Vicki was well known by many people who visited the family farm –The Bethlehem Christmas Tree Farm- to purchase trees and her beautiful handmade wreaths. She was a member the Christmas Town Festival Committee. She also volunteered with New Milford Hospice and was on the Board of Directors for North Purchase Senior Housing.
Vicki was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and great aunt to all of her family and a cherished friend to all who knew her. Vicki leaves behind to honor her memory her husband Paul, her son Jeffrey Reid, his wife Joy and their son Owen of Northfield, CT; her brother Richard Horn and wife Sherry of Kenduskeag, ME; sister-in-law Lois Wilson of Rochester, NH; niece Heather Soucy (Jim) of Candia, NH; nephew Aaron Wilson of Rochester, NH; niece Jennifer Cookson (Eric) of New Gloucester, ME; nephew Christopher Horn (Shelly) of Rougemont, NC; and numerous great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Terrance Ryan and his staff and the Hartford Health Care at Home team for all of their care and assistance during this difficult time.
Contributions can be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association (www.apdaparkinson.org) in her honor or to your favorite charity.
A celebration of the life of Vicki Reid will be held at a later time when the risk of Covid 19 has diminished.
