Obituary


Ula (Tenney) (Duncan) Cole, 93, of Southbury, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Watermark at East Hill Health Center. She was the widow of John V. Duncan and William K. Cole. Mrs. Cole was born April 3, 1916 in New York City, daughter of the late Irving and Ula (Hollis) Tenney. Mrs. Cole attended Miss Hewitt's School in NYC and The Fermata School in Aiken, South Carolina. During WW II, she worked for the French Relief and was secretary to Salvador Dali. She was an avid golfer and tennis player and founded Plant Parenthood in Heritage Village. Mrs. Cole was a member of The Colony Club in NYC.
She is survived by a son, Peter Duncan of New Preston; two daughters, Helene Dilks of Philadelphia, PA and Joan Duncan of Port Chester, NY; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Hyland Dilks, Hollis Dilks O'Sullivan, Michael Stirling Duncan Jr.; 5 great grandchildren, Margaret Birgitta Dilks, Peter Hyland Dilks, John Dilks O'Sullivan, Olivia Wallyce Duncan, Michael Stirling Duncan III. She was pre-deceased by a step-son, Michael Stirling Duncan, Sr.

Cemetery: Cemetery Not Applicable

Location: Munson-Lovetere Woodbury

Services: Private graveside services will be held at the New North Cemetery in Woodbury.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
