Thom Shea, aged 76, passed away on May 6, 2025, at his home in Woodbury, CT. Born on October 27, 1948, in Waterbury, CT, Thom was the beloved son of Bart Shea and Joan Foley Shea. He grew up with his siblings Bart, Billy, Mike, and Mary, and attended Kaynor Tech and CCSU.

Thom served in the Airforce for four years. After his military service, he became a teacher and taught at Region 14 for 31 years. In 2005 he married Joan Huizenga, and they shared 20 wonderful years together. Thom was a loving stepfather to his two daughters, Jennifer and Emily, and a doting grandfather to Maia and Kyler.

Thom was predeceased by his parents, Bart and Joan. He will be remembered as a beloved teacher, cross-country coach, and an avid runner who loved music - especially the Grateful Dead.

A memorial service to celebrate Thom's life and share memories will be held on Friday, May 16th from 4-7pm, at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, CT.
