IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas M
Samuelson
December 31, 1941 – March 2, 2023
Woodbury- Thomas M. Samuelson, 81, of Woodbury, passed away on Thursday March 2, 2023 at Waterbury Hospital after a short illness. He was the loving husband of Linda Lee (Carter) Samuelson for 58 years.
Thomas was born on December 31, 1941 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Carl E. Samuelson and Mary (Murray) Samuelson. Tom was educated at local schools and eventually achieved two degrees, a Bachelor's in History from St. John Fisher College and a MBA in Accounting. He worked for a number of companies as an accountant including Ernst and Ernst, Peabody, and finally Caturra Coffee.
Tom and Linda met in Rochester, NY and quickly fell in love. They married on September 7, 1964 and raised their family in Brookfield, CT. Tom had many hobbies but he felt most at home surrounded by nature. He especially loved camping, tennis, and fishing with his grandchildren. Tom and Linda were avid travelers; they were proud to have visited all 50 states and a number of other countries. Tom had a great sense of humor and would never turn down the opportunity to enjoy a glass of Scotch with friends and family. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him knew that, above all else, he loved his family, including his sweet dog, Dixie.
Besides his devoted wife Linda, Tom is survived by his children, Suzanne Puglisi (John) and Carl Samuelson (Amy), his grandchildren, Nicholas, Rebecca, Maya, Jack, Autumn, Alex, and Sage, and his great-grandson, Levi. He is also survived by his brother, J. David Samuelson, and many nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl E. Samuelson Jr., and his sister, MaryAnn Samuelson.
