Thomas Allan Richter, of New Milford passed away on October 30, 2016 at the age of 74, in Norwich, CT., a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident caused by a driver under the influence of alcohol. Tom was happily married 52 years to his best friend Carol Richter.
Tom was born August 17, 1942 the son of Howard and Helen (Fensky) Richter. He was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, CT
Throughout his life, Tom was a true tradesman, to include auto mechanic, cabinet maker, home builder and owner operator of Cobra Corporation a residential and commercial excavation business. Tom was retired at the time of his death. He had recently gone back to work "For Fun" for David and Darin Renihan of Site Services Excavation as a heavy equipment operator, and was truly enjoying himself. He loved spending time with friends and family, riding around and watching highway construction sites progress, going fishing, playing slot machines at the Casino with his wife Carol and his little white Chihuahua, Rambo.
Tom is survived by his wife Carol Richter and his two daughters Lyn Ann Green of St. Helena, Ca. and Dawn Richter of Woodbury CT and his five grandchildren are Courtney Richter, Jessica Clear, Branden Clear, Alyssa Renihan and Tyler Hardisty, Tom's brother Arthur Richter and wife Kelly of Topton, NC., and his In laws Norman and Paula Wilcox of Cornith, NY, Ray and Jackie Wilcox of Sioux Falls, SD. and many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents Howard and Helen Richter and his oldest beloved daughter Kimberly Ann Richter.
