Thomas Owen McEvoy, 72,  of Judson Avenue, known as Mac by townspeople passed away on March 10, 2017. Mac was born November 11, 1944 son of the late John and Mary (Parker) McEvoy. He served in the US Air Force as a mechanic in the 1960's. For years Mac, worked at Woodbury Telephone, starting as a lineman, running the the test board, and eventually retiring as a facility assignor. Growing up in Bethlehem, he learned to love the history of our local area; he worked as a docent & volunteer at the Bullet Hill School, Southbury & the Glebe House, Woodbury for almost 20 years, playing Santa Claus for many years. He participated in Civil War reenactments & posed for an artist in Southbury who paints Civil War reenactments, always playing the part of Robert E. Lee.

Mac was a NASCAR fan and car enthusiast. He was an animal lover, always owning a dog, cat or bird. He also volunteered his time for FISH in Woodbury.

Mac is survived by his sister Mary Burlock, his nephew Gary Burlock and his great niece, Alicia Burlock all of West Haven.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held in the Carmel Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem, May 12, 2017 at 3:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, P.O. Box 491, Woodbury, CT. 06798 to help the family defray the cost of burial.
