Thomas Vincent March died peacefully on January 3, 2024 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was 79 years old. A lifelong Bethlehem resident, Tom was born to Matthew and Anastasia March in 1944. He grew up working on March Farm (his family's dairy farm) with his four siblings. He attended Woodbury High School where he served on the executive board of the FFA and graduated with the class of 1962. He attended The University of Connecticut campus in Storrs where he received an associates degree from the College of Agriculture with a focus in dairy.

Tom met his future wife Susan on a blind date in 1972. Always the romantic, Tom kept a picture of "his bride" in his wallet and could be heard bragging about her to anyone that would listen. In 1976 Susan and Tom took up the reins of the farm, eventually moving away from dairy farming completely. Together they raised four children and continued to grow the family business into a thriving agricultural destination with the help of their extended family including their late son Ben. Recently Tom was able to experience working more closely with his other three children on the farm.

Tom was an avid water skier in his younger years, spending many days on Bantam Lake as part of the Bantam Lake Ski Club. He and Susan also enjoyed seasonal snow mobile excursions on the local trails. A dedicated worker and farmer, he felt most comfortable on his land and was known to only get sick on family vacations.

In his later years he refused to slow down and could be found working in the greenhouse, pruning trees, and peddling his produce to local store owners. A community staple, he will be missed for his inappropriate one-liners, his incredible dance moves, long stories, his caring demeanor, and generosity. He was truly one of a kind.

Thomas is survived by his wife of fifty years, Susan (Collett) March, their children, Heather Hurley (William), Thomas March Jr. (Lisa) and Emily March. He was pre-deceased by his son Benjamin March (Larissa). He also leaves four siblings Mathew "Motty" March (Susan), James March (Louise), Catherine Pearson, and Barbara Garner (Robert), his brother -in-law William Collett (Sharon), his nephews Shane Collett (Chantelle), and Jason Collett (Lauren). He also leaves ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 3-5 pm with a service beginning at 5 at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St. Woodbury. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Toms' memory to: The Nonnewaug High School FFA or The Benjamin March Scholarship Fund.
