Thomas Lizauskas, age 65, of Woodbury died unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital, September 2, 2014.
He was the husband of Kelly Lizauskas. Tom was born in Waterbury, January 6, 1949. He was the son of Adam Lizauskas Sr. and Helen Gwazdauskas. Tom grew up in Woodbury attending Woodbury schools and was a graduate of the Vo-Ag program at Woodbury High School. After school he worked on the family dairy farm, Lizbro incorporated until 1994. He held other jobs until he retired from the Town of Woodbury Public Works department where he worked for 11 years. After Tom left the family farm, he never lost his love for farming. He raised turkeys, chickens and beef cows. He was also an avid hunter, and traveled to get his prize elk, moose, caribou and bear. He loved fishing and traveled with his son to Alaska to go fishing. He shared his love of the outdoors with his grandchildren teaching them many valuable lessons. He and Kelly were married for 11 laughter filled years. Tom also leaves behind his children, Carol Lizauskas of Fort Covington, NY and John Lizauskas of New Milford, his grandchildren, Natasha Weiner of Watertown, Mariah Shanahan of Lakeville, Timothy Humiston Jr. of Fort Covington, NY, and Kiya Beschle of Bethel, CT. He also leaves behind his sisters Suzanne Lizauskas of Wisconsin, Mary Lizauskas and her partner Linda Gray of Kingsfield, ME and Lillian Donahue of Wolcott and a brother Adam and his wife Sharon of Woodbury. He was also stepfather to Sara Beschle of Danbury, Adam Beschle of Woodbury, Bonnie Beavans of Monroe CT, Gary Beavans of Cornwall CT and Brian Beavans. He was predeceased by a sister Helen Connelly and his wife Shirley Ferry Lizauskas of 20 plus years and several nieces and nephews.

Services: There will be a mass to celebrate Tom's life on Monday, September 8th at 4: 00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main Street South Woodbury. Tom's family would like to invite you to a reception in the parish hall after the service to share memories and stories about Tom.
