Thomas Kennedy (Geezer), 77, of Southbury CT, passed peacefully on July 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas was born on October 4, 1939 in Waterbury, CT. He worked for 32 years for the state of Connecticut as a chef, baker, and supervisor.
Geezer, as he was known by most, was an amazing and unique character who exhibited such a caring and compassionate soul. His love for his family was unimaginable. To watch his children and grandchildren grow was one of his greatest pleasures and experiences in his life. His heart and home were always open to those in need. He had a passion for traveling far and wide, most places people only dream about. Each journey he made broadened his horizons. He had many experiences and stories to share upon returning home. His greatest passion and accomplishment were his gardens. One often found Geezer in his gardens talking, nourishing, and tending to his plants like you would a child.
Geezer leaves behind his two children, his son, Brian Kennedy (Kelly Wilson Kennedy) of Bethlehem, CT and his daughter, Heather Kennedy Pendergast (John Pendergast) of Sandy Hook, CT., his niece, Margaret Kennedy Buell (Vern Buell) of Southbury, CT., his four grandchildren- Riley, Catherine, Brian, and Brianna, a great grandson, Rohen. his brothers- Patrick Kennedy of Cameron, NY and John Kennedy of Oakville, CT. Thomas also leaves his truly dearest, closest, and best friends Cher and Jeff Greenwood of Southbury, CT., his one and only longtime fur ball (dog) Chai, and an abundance of family and friends who were dear to his heart.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, Robert Kennedy.
