Thomas Alan James Jr.

Tom James, 64, of Woodbury Connecticut was called home to the loving arms of

our heavenly father on January 16th, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was

born on August 4th, 1961 in Bronxville, NY and grew up in Katonah, NY, where he

spent his days going on epic quests with his brother. Whether he was riding bikes,

exploring the woods or building forts, Tom’s sense of adventure never waned.

As an adult, Tom’s adventurous nature continued as he was an avid traveler who

loved to explore with his late wife, Rose. His happy places were Cape Cod and

Vermont, where he was married to the love of his life in 2008 in Arlington, Vermont

at the Arlington Inn. Tom was a true renaissance man. He was well versed in music,

he knew the stock market, he was a connoisseur of food, an avid sports fan and

knowledgeable about the world around him. He was hilarious and kept everyone

laughing with his quick wit. While we will miss Tom deeply, we know he was looking

forward to reuniting with his wife, Rose, in heaven.

Tom is survived by his loving Brother Rick James and sister-in-law Katie, Nieces

Avery and Whitney and Nephew Will, his adoring step-children Gregory Nolen,

Christopher Nolen and Jessica Nolen and step-grandchildren Rose Murdock, Louis

Nolen and Charlotte Nolen. A graveside service will be held for Thomas on February 7, 

2026 at 11:30 am at New North Cemetery, Woodbury.
