Theresa Newbauer (Tess Thomas) of Southbury, CT passed away on September 23, 2018 at Pomperaug Woods. She was the devoted wife of the late Raymond F. Newbauer. Born to the late Michael and Mary Thomas of Granville, New York. She had been a resident of Stratford for many years. Tess was retired from People's United Bank where she was an Investment Operation Officer. She was an Officer of the Ladies Guild at St. Mark Church. Also, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark's Church for many years. Survivors include her devoted children: Richard R. Newbauer and wife Barbara of NC., Mark T. Newbauer of RI., Lynn G. Detlefsen and husband Roy of CT., Ellen M. Daly and husband Michael of NC. Five grandchildren: C. Maxwell Newbauer and wife Adriane, Jackson T. Newbauer and wife Megan, Amber Popovich and husband Steve, Tori Downing and husband Corey, Jaimie L. Newbauer and Joey Gargano. Also, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Tess is also survived by her brother Andrew Thomas, sisters Madeline Quinlan, and R. Irene Thomas all of Granville, NY. Also, Joseph Newbauer and wife Joyce, and sister-in-law Anita Newbauer all from CT. In addition to her late husband, Raymond and parents, she was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Michael, brothers, John, George and Michael Thomas Jr., sisters Mitzie (Ann) Chornyak and Helen Banyay. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 4 – 7pm at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St N., Southbury A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday September 27, 2018, 10 am at St. John of the Cross Church, 1263 West St., Middlebury. Burial will be immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery, Buckingham Ave, Milford CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made to St. John of the Cross Church Building Fund, P.O.
