Obituary


SOUTHBURY- Theodore Wallace Smith, 88, of Ivy Hills Rd., died Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Lutheran of Southbury. He was the wife of the late Mae Elizabeth (Daniels) Smith.

Mr. Smith was born February 13, 1921 in Beacon Falls, son of the late Henry and Mildred (Saxton) Schmitz. Mr. Smith had worked at the Bristol Company in Waterbury and was a WW II US Army Air Corps.veteran.

Mr. Smith was a volunteer with the Boys Scouts of America. He also served with the Southbury Democratic Town Committee and the Planning Commission where he served as Vice Chairman for over 12 years. He enjoyed his motorcycle, traveling, bowling and being with his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Wildman and her husband Edward of Southbury, a son Theodore W. Smith , Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Waterbury, a sister Marion Sabia of Torrington, two brothers, Gerald Smith of Beacon Falls and George Smith of Waterbury, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Predeceased by a sister Marge Jurzynski of Beacon Falls and two brothers, Clifford and Howard of Beacon Falls.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers' Association, Northwest Regional Office, 84 Progress Lane, Waterbury, CT 06705 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Fairfield County Chapter, 200 Connecticut Ave., 5H, Norwalk, Ct 06854.

Funeral: Sacred Heart Church

Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 22 at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South at 9: 30 a.m.

Visitation: Calling Hours will be held on Wedneday from 4-6 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
