IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tammy K.
Edward
April 12, 1958 – February 7, 2015
Tammy Edward, 56, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, February 7, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of positivity, love, and kindness. Tammy was well loved and had an unwavering strength and optimism that was admired by many. She is truly an inspiration to many people.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 12, 1958, to Betty and the late Willis Kredel. Tammy grew up with two siblings, older brother Kim Kredel, and her younger sister Margie Stone, who she is predeceased by. When Tammy was a child, she practiced judo, and Ringo was her favorite Beatle. Always a hard and determined worker, Tammy worked for the State of Connecticut at Southbury Training School for 27 years before retiring in 2012 due to medical reasons. She worked as a lead worker and loved her "guys" in the cottages she worked in.
Tammy absolutely adored her children, daughter Krissy (Childs) Maksymiw and her husband Dennis, son Matthew Childs, and daughter Dana Nedab. Her life was full of even more love and happiness with the arrival her grandchildren Sophie, Elliot, and Adam. She also had a longstanding friendship with her former husband, Donald Childs. Tammy is also survived by her nieces and nephews. Tammy loved to tinker in her garden during the warmer months. She loved flowers and plants. She absolutely loved holidays and celebrated (even minor ones) with full force. She couldn't resist a good sale. Tammy loved her coffee, right up until her very last day. She could make up songs about anything and would do many silly things to make people laugh. She loved creating and making things. Most of all, Tammy loved being with her children and grandchildren. Tammy had an uncanny ability to make people feel welcomed and make them feel like they had a place in the world. She accepted people for who they were and was able to talk to anyone. She lived to love the people who were blessed to be a part of her life.
