Mrs. Sylvia L. (Sidella) Seraffino, 79, of Woodbury, died peacefully in her home with her family around her on Monday, September 26, 2011. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Seraffino, Sr.
Mrs. Seraffino was born August 27, 1932 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Luigi and Salvatrice (Erna) Sidella. She has resided in Woodbury since 1964. She met her late husband at the US Rubber Shop in Naugatuck, where they were both employed. Mrs. Seraffino retired from Winchester Electronics in Watertown after 26 years of service and having worked in several positions. She was an avid UCONN Huskies fan, enjoyed dancing and gardening. She also enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home in Woodbury and was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church.
She leaves a daughter, Sister Jo-Ann T. Seraffino, Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist; a son, Anthony J. Seraffino, Jr., of Woodbury, two brothers, William Sidella of Waterbury and Gilbert Sidella of Naugatuck, a sister Marie Peluso of Atlantic City, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Albert, Louis, Jr. and Robert Sidella and a sister, Rose Sidella.

Funeral: Church of the Nativity

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 29, at The Church of the Nativity, 48 East St. Bethlehem at 11: 00 a.m. Burial will follow in the New North Cemetery, Woodbury.

Visitation: Visitation will be held at the church Thursday morning from 10 to 11: 00 a.m.
