Susan Anne Mazzarella, 56, loving wife, mother and grandmother, of Southbury, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Michael Mazzarella Sr. Susan was born August 18, 1952 in Bristol, daughter of the late Edgar Loveland and Dorothy Stewart Downs. She was working as an office services representative with Pitney-Bowes Management Services for over 20 years. Susan loved to fish, swim and ride motorcycles and was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Mazzarella Jr. and his girlfriend Nikki; a daughter, Laura Anne Elwood; two brothers, Ray Onidi and his wife Janet, Edgar Downs and his wife Chris, three sisters, Ellie Cooke and her husband Bill, Helen Bouchard and her husband Norman, Cindy Beauchman and her husband Paul; her grandson Sylas Samuel Mazzarella; her mother-in-law, Mary Louise Mazzarella;her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dicamillo and her husband Ed, Linda Lavin and her husband Mike, Mary Kirlin and her husband Peter; brothers-in-law Keith Mazzarella and his wife Valarie,Arthur Mazzarella and his wife Janet, Paul Mazzarella and David Mazzarella; several aunts ,uncles, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son Robert Alan Goldberg and a brother-in-law, Samuel Mazzarella.

Services: Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20 at 7: 00 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial will be private.

Visitation: Calling hours will be held Monday, at the funeral home, from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
