Obituary

Suellen Curtiss Maxwell, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 8th at Waterbury Hospital.

Suellen was born on August 26th, 1943 in Woodbury, Ct, the daughter of the late Charles and Darlene (Hawks) Curtiss.  She was a resident of Woodbury her entire life and never had the desire to live anywhere else.

She was an active member of North Congregational Church in Woodbury.  The Church played a big role in her life. Among many other things, she was a deacon, a member of Women's Fellowship, and involved with multiple Search Committees over the years. She also founded and ran the North Church Nursery School for more than 20 Years until her retirement.  During that time she touched a lot of lives (students and parents alike) while she was there. She loved children and had a very special gift when it came to education and preparing them for kindergarten.

She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Barry Maxwell, her son Scott Maxwell and his wife Hillary of Sierra Madre Ca, and her brother Alan Curtiss and his wife Paula of Pensacola Fl.

There will be a service celebrating her life on Saturday, March 17th at 10am at North Congregational Church in Woodbury.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The North Congregational Church Memorial Fund 11 Main St N, Woodbury Ct 06798. Munson Lovetere Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
