Dr. Subra Siva, 85, passed away peacefully at home in Woodbury, Connecticut, on May 25, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka to P. Subramaniam and Thangamuthupillai, he was the beloved husband of Thillai Siva for 54 years. Together, they moved to the United States in 1973 and built a life in Connecticut.

Dr. Siva was a dedicated physician who practiced in Southbury and Waterbury, specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics. He later led the medical team at Southbury Training School, where he was known for his compassionate care and steady leadership.

He was a devoted father to his son Kishore (wife Dina) and daughter Saila (partner Skye Taber), and a proud grandfather to Dimitrios and Christopher. He cherished time spent with his grandsons, laughter, music, and a love for the New York Yankees, which he passed down to his family.

Dr. Siva is also survived by his brothers,  Ponmailainathan, Thirupparankirinathan, and his sister, Sushila. He was predeceased by his sisters, Padmawathy and Karunawathy, and his brother, Arunagirinathan. He was beloved by his many nieces and nephews in the USA, Sri Lanka, Australia, and around the world.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep commitment to family and medicine, and the lasting values he instilled in those around him.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 10:00am. All services will be held at the Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury, CT 06488.
