Woodbury- Stephen A. Root, 71, of Woodbury, passed away unexpectedly on March 16th, 2025. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 30 years, Claire Anne Root. Stephen was the son of the late Allan Sanford Root and Elizabeth (Rhoades) Root of Bethlehem, CT.

Stephen grew up in Bethlehem and graduated from Nonnewaug High School in 1972. Stephen had a passion for electronics, which led him to a successful career working for Ultra Electronics DNE Technologies, Inc. He began his career there in 1983 as a Programmer Analyst and concluded his career in 2016 as an IT Manager.

Stephen was a dedicated father, son, brother, and friend whose hard work and helpful nature improved the lives of those around him. He lived a peaceful and generous life and was always someone people could rely on. He had a love for gardening, the outdoors, technology, and spending time with family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his children, Stephen D. Root, Nicole (Root) LaBella, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, sister, and everyone who he left a positive and lasting impact on throughout his life.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, CT 06798.
