Mr. Stephen F. Istona, 83, of Orchard Ave died Monday January 15th at Wolcott View Manor. He was the widower of Julia (Daunis) Istona.
Mr. Istona was born December 14, 1923 in Litchfield son of the late Thomas and Anna (Bujniak) Istona. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during World War II in the 9th Infantry.. He worked for 41 years as a shipping clerk for Seth Thomas and retired in 1989. He was an avid gardener, birdwatcher, and nature lover and a member of St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury.
He is survived by two daughters Carolyn Brade of Wolcott and Francine Coppola of Illinois, a brother Andrew Istona of Wolcott, four grandchildren, Paul Coppola, Andrea Coppola, Jason Brade, and Jennifer Brade and two great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday January 19th at 10am at St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury. Burial will be in the spring.
