Woodbury - Mrs. Stephanie Welty of Woodbury passed away on July 25, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital after a six year struggle with kidney disease. She was born on November 24, 1958 in White Plains, New York. She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Jim. She was known fondly as "Miss Stephanie" to the children of The Community Chapel (Southbury) where her husband is the pastor. Stephanie and Jim founded The Community Chapel in 1987, and she taught for many years in the church's children's program. Mrs. Welty was also a beloved local piano teacher for over ten years.
