Obituary

ROXBURY- Stanley P. Mongin, 68, of Roxbury passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at home. He is survived by his wife, Meg Mongin, a daughter, Glory Mongin of Ireland, a brother, Michael Mongin of Virginia Beach, VA, a step daughter, Sarah Gray of Chicago, and a step son, Joshua Gray of Connecticut.

Mr. Mongin was born February 27, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Stanley V. and Stella Kosinski Mongin. He resided in Brooklyn, NY and built a house in Roxbury, CT in 1979, living here full time since retirement. A mechanical engineer, Mr. Mongin worked on the Lunar Excursion Module at Grumman Aeronautical, and was a Seminar Director at American Management Corporation. He also served as Building Manager for The Brooklyn Academy of Music. He was Real Estate Manager, first at Carnegie Hall and later at The United Jewish Appeal in New York. In addition, he acted as construction manager for Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and a school for children with special needs in Park Slope Brooklyn.

Since retirement, Mr. Mongin worked at Maple Bank Farm and River Bank Farm, both in Roxbury. Stan was active for ten years at Ann's Place, which provides cancer support services in Danbury. He was a member of the Roxbury Library Board, Roxbury Scholarship Fund and the Roxbury Zoning Board of Appeals.

Cemetery: Cemetery Not Applicable

Location: Munson-Lovetere Woodbury

Services: A memorial service will be held on July 11 at 11: 00 a.m. at Christ Church Roxbury. The committal will follow at the church columbarium.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
