Sofia M. (Andersen) Luszczak, 75, of Southbury, passed away on February 18, 2013, at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. Luszczak was born August 6, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Lichota) Andersen. She was married to the late Martin Luszczak for 27 years. A longtime resident of Southbury, she was employed for over 30 years by Southbury Mfg. Sofia was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting in her spare time. A devoted mother and grandmother, she had a generous and loving heart. She was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Sofia is survived by her children, Richard Luszczak, and his wife Shannon, of New Milford, Arlene Luszczak of Thomaston, and Paula Luszczak of Southbury. She is pre-deceased by an infant son, Charles Luszczak. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua Luszczak, and Joseph, Daria, Rhiannon, and Gabriel Bulwidas.

Additionally, Sofia is survived by her brother Eric Andersen of Thomaston, and her sisters: Patricia Andersen of Southbury, Carol Goodwin of Gray, Tennessee, Marlene Padalick, of Piscataway, New Jersey, and Sharon Butto of Freehold, New Jersey. She was pre-deceased by a younger brother, Edward Andersen.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cedars-Sinai Women's Heart Center or the American Diabetes Association.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 23rd at 10am at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial will take place in Mountain Meadow Cemetery, Seymour, in the spring.

Visitation: Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday February 22nd from 6 - 8pm.
