Shirley A. "Sam" (Hayes) Cortese, 80, of Woodbury, widow of the late Ross Cortese, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital. She was born on February 20, 1938, the daughter of the late Bertha Hayes. Sam enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, friends, and four-legged friend, Koko. Sam is survived by her two sons, Scott and Kevin Muli; her grandsons, Jason and Corey Forget; and her son-in-law, David Forget. In addition to her beloved husband, Ross, she was predeceased by her daughter, Kim Forget. Services have been entrusted to Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home.
