Obituary

Shirley Ann Hardisty, born February 6, 1942, passed away on August 16, 2025, leaving behind a life full of stories, laughter, sass, and strength.

Shirley was one of a kind — witty, wild when she wanted to be, and never afraid to speak her mind. She had a sharp sense of humor, a stubborn streak, and a heart big enough to hold everyone she cared about.

She made her mark at The Curtis House, where she was a staple for many years — known as much for her quick wit as for her loyal presence. Whether behind the counter or sitting down for a chat, Shirley brought life to every room she entered.

She spent her later years in Bethlehem, sharing a home with her daughter, Bonnie, where she loved sitting by the window, watching the fields and the wildlife. That quiet view, with a hot cup of coffee in hand, was her peace.

Shirley is survived by her children, Bonnie Santoro (husband Gary), and Robert Whitcomb (wife Patricia), and was predeceased by her daughter DeeDee Whitcomb. She was a proud grandmother to Stacey Meyers Breton (husband Christopher), Samantha Logue (husband James), Drake Whitcomb (wife Stephanie), Sawyer Whitcomb, and her bonus granddaughter Jessica Tracy-Meyers, whom she loved as her own. She was the great-grandmother to Tyler, Riley, Amelia, and Emma. She also leaves behind her brother Robert Bourdeau (wife Chris), many loving nieces and nephews, and the countless friends whose lives she brightened along the way. She was preceded in death by her brothers Richard and Leonard Bourdeau.

Shirley lived unapologetically and loved fiercely — the kind of woman who didn't just leave a memory behind, but a story worth telling.

Per her wishes, services will be private. In her memory, raise a cup of coffee, share a laugh, and say something wildly inappropriate — she would've loved that.
