IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shiqirije
Krosi
June 20, 1930 – July 2, 2016
Shiqirije Krosi, was born June 20, 1930 in Diber, Macedonia. Not long after her marriage to Adem Krosi in Gjoric, Albania, in 1947, the two fled the communist regime of Albania, eventually emigrating to France with their young son and daughter. As they strived to make Paris their home, they helped many Albanian refugees, keeping their door and the hearts open to those who found themselves in need of work or a place to stay. Meanwhile their own family grew.
Shiqirije and her husband raised seven children and lived in France, a country they loved, but fate brought them to this beautiful country in 1979, where they lived in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Throughout the challenges she faced in life, Shiqirije remained steadfast in her unconditional devotion to her children and family.
Guided by her unwavering faith in God, and her respect of culture and tradition, she lived her life with strong moral values which she gently imparted to her children. She believed in the freedom to lead the life you chose as long as the road you took kept you kind, just, respectful, and humble.
Of course if you derailed at times she could be quite passionate in her teachings! Despite all and above all, she had that ability to give you the giggles, and we always ended up laughing about everything and nothing...
She is survived by her two sons and five daughters: Bashkim Krosi and Muisi Krosi, and Naxhije Muca, Nafije Skepi, Dr. Zife Krosi Janiszewski, Sebije Boyd, and Vivi Krosi Gustafson. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Adem
Krosi, and two other children who died in infancy.
"Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love, time is eternity." H.V.D
