Sherwood Warden Wright passed away on January 7, 2016. He was born on June 4, 1925, survived by his wife of 65 years Nancy Burton Wright, his 3 daughters Bonnie Johnson and her husband Greg of Bethlehem, Mary Jane LaBoudy and her husband Jim of Bethlehem, Patty Wright and her friend Jackie Gugliotti of Waterbury, 5 grand-daughters, 8 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, and 1 faithful dog Matty. He is predeceased by his mother Mary Scofield and his father Thomas Wright.
Born in Wappingers Falls, NY, Sherwood spent his childhood in Poughkeepsie. He moved back to East Morris and graduated from Morris High School, and lived the rest of his life in Bethlehem, CT.
Sherwood spent 32 years as a dairy farmer, 15 years at Connecticut Tube Products in Woodbury. For 15 years they had a ocean site at Grindells on Cape Cod. After retiring he spent winters at Cypress Cove in Kissimmee, FL; he then lived his remaining years in Bethlehem, CT.
He loved Bethlehem. While Fire Chief he had much to do with building the firehouse. He was a charter member of the Ambulance and Lions Club, and was a member of the Bethlehem Fair. He became a private pilot and joined Sigma Six Flying Group. He enjoyed flying and gave many people rides in his airplane.
In Florida he joined the 1873 Elks Club where he attended social events and acquired many friends. He was also a member of the First Church of Bethlehem.
The Wright family is deeply grateful to the caregivers at Northwest VNA, Marsha, Malisa and Barbara.
He will be sadly missed by everyone he has touched in his life.

Services: Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11: 00 AM at The First Church in Bethlehem with a reception following in Bellamy Hall. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
