Shauna Marie Olsen Remlin, age 25, died unexpected on December 12, 2025, due to complications related to her thyroid.

Shauna was born on March 10, 2000, to the late Dana Olsen Martino. She is survived by her devoted husband Aleksandr and their beautiful 4-year-old Daughter Lelyah.

Shauna loved the simple, meaningful joys of life: baking homemade bread and turnovers, jarring vegetables, collecting eggs from her chickens, and being with her family. Shauna tolerated people but had an amazing love for animals. Her home was full of life with 12 chickens, two dogs, two cats, and a rabbit.

Shauna is also survived by her brother Devon McDermott, her grandparents Jim and Karen Olsen, her sister-in-law Anya Remlin, her mother and father-in-law Brenda and Terry Remlin, her half-sister Savanna Smith, her stepfather Steve Martino, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also had a "second mom," Sue Peterson, who became a constant source of love and guidance in her life.

Shauna was predeceased by her mother Dana Olsen Martino and her great grandmother Lillian "Nonne" Olsen.

Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Christ Church Quaker Farms, 470 Quaker Farms Road, Oxford, CT. Visiting hours will be 11:00 AM to Noon with a service immediately following. Friends and family are invited to the fellowship hall following the service.

Shauna's happy place was at the horse farm with her boy Rooney. She was most comfortable in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt or hoodie and her boots. Getting dressed up meant putting on her favorite jeans, or a western dress, and her cowboy boots. We encouraged those attending to wear your favorite western outfit, as that would make Shauna the happiest.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lelyah Remlin for her education fund.

Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
