Samad Pooyan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Samad (Iraj) Pooyan, who left us peacefully on December 22, 2025. Born on June 16, 1940, in Iran, Samad was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He met the love of his life, Fahimeh, during their teenage years. They had an unbreakable bond throughout their 61 years of marriage. Together they developed a love for traveling around the world, experiencing different cultures and learning about history. After beginning his career as an executive with Arj in Iran, he later immigrated to the United States, where he continued to make his mark in the industry while working for Slant Fin.

Samad truly loved nature, birdwatching and the ocean. His favorite quiet time was sitting in his backyard on warm summer afternoons, listening to the birds chirping.

Samad had a very special relationship with his granddaughter, whom he adored. She made his heart smile.

Samad is survived by his devoted wife Fahimeh Pooyan, son Shahriar and his wife Susan Pooyan, daughter Yasmin and her husband James Heffernan, his cherished granddaughter Ava Pooyan, as well as many relatives and friends.
