Miss Ruth Elizabeth Kurtz, 85, passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2010 at Mid-State Medical Hospital after a brief but sudden illness. Ruthie resided at the Masonic Health Care Center of Wallingford for the past twelve years.
Ruthie was born in Waterbury on December 24, 1924, the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth (Wheeler) Kurtz. Ruthie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Those who held her dear will miss her kind, gentle spirit. Ruthie had a life long love and devotion to the health and well being of all animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed being outdoors and had a deep appreciation for nature. She was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church of Waterbury.
She leaves three brothers, George R., Ned W., and Harry W. Kurtz, all of Waterbury and many nieces and nephews. One brother, Jack W. Kurtz of Waterbury predeceased her.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal shelter of your choosing in honor of Ruthie.
