William Roy Cook

Cooker, Cookie, Mr. C, Pops, Poppy,

Born November 2, 1934, and gracefully went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family and loved ones on August 30, 2025. Bill was 90 years and 9 months at the time of his passing. Bill was born in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School. He joined the Airforce and was married to the love of his life Julia Ann Polis. They were married for over 66 years until she went home to be with the Lord in 2021.

Bill Cook was known and loved by so many. He was someone who never shied away from work. His amazing work ethic and infectious demeanor put a smile to anyone who simply mentions his name. The resolve and dedication that he showed in all that he did will leave a legacy that will be hard to match but eager to strive for in the years to come.

Bill Cook served in the following capacities

He was a draftsman for many years, he was a volunteer fireman and ambulance member in Redding for many years, He was a Constable for the town of Redding, He was a State Auxiliary Police officer for many years, He was a softball player and even manager of the RFV softball team, He was an Ecumenical minister at St Patrick Church, He was a maintenance worker at JRMS in Redding for many years. He was a caretaker for the church. It has often been said that the only time he stopped was when he was sleeping. He ultimately retired in 2020, but his social calendar expanded to the likes we all can only hope for.

Bill is survived by his sister Sue Malkin, and brother Roy, sons Tommy (wife Penny) and Patrick, and he is predeceased by his beloved wife Julia of 66 years, his daughter Linda and his son Billy. Bill also treasured his grandchildren: David, Julie, Billy, Tommy, Jessica, Cristin, Megan, Terry, Kenny, Lenny, Theresa, and Sam. He also leaves behind 19 beloved Great Grandchildren. Bill had the distinct pleasure of also having 2 great, great grandchildren.

Calling hours are Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT. A liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Friday September 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Church in Redding, CT. Burial will follow church services at St. John's Cemetery in West Norwalk, CT.
