WOODBURY- Roy W. Bishop, Sr., 77, of Woodbury, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Waterbury Hospital.

Mr. Bishop was born February 26, 1934 in Armenia, NY., son of the late Robert and Maragret (Able) Bishop. He has resided in Woodbury since 1980, previously living in Danbury. He worked as a machine operator in construction. Mr. Bishop enjoyed gardening, boating and fishing.

He leaves three sons, Roy W. Bishop, Jr. of Medina, NY, Wayne Bishop of Seymour and Dirk Bishop of Virginia, three daughters, Linda Box and her husband Rich of Torrington and Gladys Bishop of Danbury and Robbie Bishop and her daughters Sara and Cheyanne, two sisters, Ann McInerney of Boynton Beach, FL and Betty Dusch of Oxford. Ten grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas, Garrett, Marissa, Kimberly, Shiheem, Brandon, Roy, III, Jennifer and Jacob and his longtime companion, Esther Ludorf of Woodbury.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 1 p.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St.

Visitation: Friends may call the funeral home Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
