In Jamaica, she attended Our Lady of Lourdes School and earned her RN at Mary Immaculate Hospital Nursing School. She married Joseph J. McLinden shortly after the end of WWII, with the headline: ARMY HERO MARRIES NURSE.
They settled in Stewart Manor, LI, NY, and Ridgefield CT. A single mother, she brought her four sons through adolescence, while nursing at General DataCom and Hubbell, Inc. She moved to Southbury, CT. Thrice widowed, she also married William Cosgrove, and H. Newt Hudson.
She was a member of the Association of Occupational Health Nurses, the Food and Nutrition Committees both at Heritage Village and Pomperaug Woods; and the Alleluia Choir for funerals at her Sacred Heart Church. A rabid bridge player, she was a member of The Bridgettes, as well as other groups.
She was a great fan of the big bands, many of whom she saw and danced to in the great hotel ballrooms in New York. She loved to travel particularly to Europe, and she celebrated her 90th birthday in Paris. Her devotion to her faith and her knowledge of health and medicine guided friends and family.
