Rosemary Anna Heim of Bethlehem, Connecticut, entered into the loving arms of Our Savior on April 24, 2023.  She was 93 years old.

Rosemary was born on January 6, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to Mary Rose Mackwekis Heim and Walter J. Joseph Heim Sr.

Rosemary lived with her parents and brother, Walter J. Heim Jr. in Sayville, New York.  She attended the local St. Lawrence Catholic Elementary School.  Rosemary resided and graduated from the Mary Immaculate Academy High School in Ossining, New York while her brother served the country in the army during World War Two.

In 1955, Rosemary moved with her family to Bethlehem, Connecticut where her parent's bought property and built a house.

Rosemary was inspired by her mother's graduation from St. Vincent's Hospital Training School for Nurses and career as a school nurse in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  Subsequently, Rosemary entered the Waterbury Hospital School of Medical Technology after previously receiving her preparatory training at Danbury Teacher College and Fordham University.

In later years, Rosemary completed schooling to work as a Library Technician at Western Connecticut University, Danbury where her love of books combined with scrupulous attention to detail and organization was put to task in sorting, categorization, and updating of the library materials at the college.

Rosemary was a very faithful Catholic.  She donated money to numerous charities such as War Veterans, Right to Life, Mother and Baby Support, Organ Donation, Earth Conservation, Missionary Publications, to name only a few.  She made hundreds of Rosary Beads for the Missions before packing and shipping them to various missionaries.

Rosemary led a very frugal life.  She was conscience of the Depression Years.  Nothing was thrown out but was repurposed.  She was not one to spend much money on clothing.  Instead, time was spent on mending and pinning.  Rosemary joined with her parents in raising vegetables plus growing fruit trees and bushes on their property.  Canning was done and much was preserved for winter in their root cellar.

Rosemary is predeceased by her parents, her brother Walter J. Heim Jr. and sister-in-law Marjorie Vaczy Heim, baby brother Charles Leon Heim, and grand nephew Frederick Brendan Horn.  Survivors include: nephew, Stephen Heim (Diane); nieces: Laura Heim Horn (Frederick), Karen Heim Maxcy (Don).  Grand nieces and nephews: Meaghan Horn Rossbach (Chuck), Michelle Horn Dyke (Kevin), Kristin Johnson, Stephen Johnson (Rikki).  And several great grand nieces and nephews.

Rosemary will be waked on Friday April 28th from 10 to 11 am followed immediately by her funeral mass at 11 am at the Church of Nativity, 48 East Street, Bethlehem.  Arrangements are being handled by Munson Lovetere, Southbury/Woodbury.  Her burial will be in the family grave in St Michaels Cemetery, Stratford.  To leave an online condolence, please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com.
