Southbury -
Mrs. Rose M. Furino, 84, of Heritage Village died Saturday October 6, 2007 at Middlebury Convalescent Home. She was the wife of John R. Furino.
Mrs. Furino was born September 19, 1923 in Glendale, New York daughter of the late Pietro and Catherina (Salvo) Pampalone. She graduated from Washington Irving High School in New York and worked for 25 years as a Real Estate Broker in New York. Mrs. Furino and her husband moved to Heritage Village in 1981. She was a member of St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury for many years. She was a creative person who loved art, gardening and bridge. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by two sons, John Richard Furino of Losgatos, CA and Peter Furino and his wife Eileen of Long Beach, NY, a daughter Catherine Welch and her husband William of Southbury, a brother Frank Pampalone and his wife Rosemarie of South Carolina, two grandsons John Welch and his wife Gloria of Massachusetts and Michael Welch of New Jersey, one niece and two nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday October 11, 2007 at 10:00am at St. Teresa's Church in Woodbury. Burial is at New North Cemetery, Woodbury. Friends may call at The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. N., from 3:00pm - 5:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday October 10, 2007.
