Rosalie Ruth Koester, 79, of Heritage Village Southbury, CT. Passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 in Fairfield, CT.

Rosalie was born October 5, 1939 in Bronx, NY, to Herman and Sophie Schwartz. She graduated from Walton High School in NYC. Rosalie worked as a secretary in the Amityville, NY schools for 30 years. She was the president of The Secretary's Union, and in her retirement worked in Dr. Marianne Bette's office. Rosalie enjoyed Broadway shows, museums, Mah Jongg, traveling abroad, reading, movies, eating out with friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Rosalie was the widow of Allan Koester. She is survived by her son Mark and his partner Michelle Mang, and their children, Paulina & Francisco. Her son Michael and his wife Ilene, and their children, Sophie & Jacob. She also leaves her brother Michael Schwartz.

A funeral will be held at Mt. Golda Cemetery in Huntington NY at 12:00P.M. on Wednesday, December 12th. Shiva will be observed at Rosalie's home on Wednesday from 4:30-8:30P.M. Shiva will also be observed on Thursday from 2:00-9:00P.M. in Stamford. Minyan at 7:00P.M. both nights.
