IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald R.
Diener
June 8, 1938 – April 5, 2025
Ronald "Ron" Diener, 86, of Southbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025. Born in Passaic, New Jersey on June 8, 1938.
For 63 beautiful years, Ron was the devoted husband of Mary (Logush) Diener. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. He was a proud and loving father to Michele and Shawn Collins, Glenn and Cindy Diener, Denise and David Brooks.
Ron found immense joy in his role as "DDad" to his grandchildren: Lauren Collins, Ryan and Justine Collins. Ashley Diener and Kristen Diener. Taylor and Cameron Maluchnik and Jonathan Brooks. One of his greatest recent joys was spending time with his great-grandson, 18-month-old Michael Collins.
Family was everything to Ron, and he shared a special bond with his cousins Kenneth, Gracie, Roger Pyrtko, Freddie and Nancy Hazekamp. He is predeceased by many loved ones, including his parents Rudolph and Helen Diener, father/mother in-law Peter and Anna Logush; grandparents Fred and Mary Pyrtko; Uncle Ken and Aunt Terry Pyrtko; Aunt Vickie and Uncle Abe Hazekamp; and cousins Kenneth and Roger Pyrtko. Brother/sister in-law Mike and Audrey Logush.
A proud graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, Ron earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1962. During his college days, he served honorably in the United States Naval Reserve.
Ron went on to build a successful and fulfilling career in the medical field, beginning in pharmaceutical sales and rising to the position of National Sales Manager. Later, he found renewed passion working in arthroscopic surgery sales with Smith & Nephew Dyonics during the innovative rise of the field in the late 1980s.
A devout Roman Catholic, Ron served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister for many years, offering comfort and connection through his faith.
In retirement, Ron embraced life on the water, enjoying quiet days on his pontoon boat on Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield. His love for nature, family gatherings, and storytelling will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ron's memory to Veterans of Connecticut, Portal.ct.gov, a cause close to his heart.
Service will be held privately.
