Obituary


Ronald F. Banks, 76, of Church Road, Southbury, died unexpectedly Saturday September 10, 2011 in his home. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Newkirk) Banks. Mr. Banks was born October 12, 1934 in New Fairfield, son of the late Henry P. and Sarah (Ferris) Banks. Ron served in the Army and retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation after 32 years and 7 months of service. He built the home he lived in and was called "The Little Paradise" by nuns who traveled by it. He was interested in WW II, enjoyed watching horse and ox pulling at the local fairs and his wild roses at home.

He is survived by his son Mark Ronald Banks, of Lantana, FL, who deeply loved him and respected him; his aunt Doris Fildes of Southbury; his brother Robert Banks of Southbury and two nephews, John and Don Banks and their families of Southbury.

Cemetery: Pine Hill Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Services: A memorial gathering will be held on Friday September 16, from 4 to 6 pm at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North. A private burial will be held in the Pine Hill Cemetery Southbury.

Visitation: Memorial gathering 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 16 at the funeral home.
