Roland D. Hellauer, age 85, a long-time Southbury resident, entered into his eternal rest on Friday January 3, 2025 at his home with his son, Gary, by his side.

Roland was born on March 11, 1939 in Derby, CT, the son of the late Otto Hellauer and Marjorie (Parker) Hellauer.

He enjoyed hunting and skeet shooting. In the later years he had a passion for antiques and collectibles. Roland was a member of the Operating Engineers Union and was a Heavy Equipment Operator most of his working life.

Roland retired at 62 and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his pets.

Roland was predeceased by his son, Scott Hellauer, his twin brother, Ronald Hellauer, older brothers Robert and Edwin Hellauer. He is survived by son Gary Hellauer and former wife and friend Shirley Hellauer.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday January 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00 PM at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main Street North, Southbury.
