Roger Green, 74, of Southbury passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, August 2, 2014. He was born on April 3rd, 1940, the son of the late Ben Green and Margaret (McGrath) Esposito. Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Thelma (Balash) Green, daughter Kelli Green, son Jason Green, sister in-law Patricia (Balash) James, brother in-law Raymond James, nephew Raymond James Jr., as well as many good friends. Roger graduated from Bridgeport University, served as an Army corpsman, and was a successful entrepreneur that owned two companies. He resided in Maine, Connecticut, and the USVI. He enjoyed sailing on Long Island Sound. Roger had a deep love for animals including the family dog Buddy, reading about history, listening to crooners, playing cards, reading the finance section of the newspaper, and Sunday dinners with family. Roger was kind, generous, and genuinely interested in the people he knew. He participated in the Irish Children's Fund program by hosting children for the summer. He was a quintessential family man, and was happiest when making people happy. He will be dearly missed by all.
