Loving father, grandfather and companion

With great sadness, the family of Robert C. Miller announces his passing on March 22 at Waterbury Hospital at the age of 86. He was born in Waterbury, CT to Edward and Gertrude Miller in 1936. An Air Force veteran and electrical engineer, Robert worked for Connecticut Light and Power before starting his own company in power transmission, designing and installing telephone poles and street lights. He was married to Louise Mercay Miller from 1961-1984, with whom he had two children, Robert L. Miller and Jennifer Miller, who looked forward to visiting him every year from out of state.

He's survived by his children, three grandchildren, siblings Marilyn Miller and John Miller, and life companion Janet Gross. Robert enjoyed gardening at the home he built in Bethlehem, CT in 1976, as well as traveling throughout the U.S. and restoring classic cars. A member of the Great Generation, he was known for his honesty, dependability, quality craftsmanship, independence, intelligence and humor.

A public memorial service will be held Monday, March 27, 4-6 p.m., at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Woodbury located 2 School St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. To leave an online condolence for the family please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com
