Robert Douglas Mackey (known as Doug), 81, of Woodbury, CT passed away on May 22, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving wife Nancy and children.

Doug was born in Midwood City Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Betty and Bob Mackey. The family moved to Stamford, CT in 1934. Doug graduated from The King School in Stamford in 1953 and started Kaiser Battistone Septic Company in Fairfield County, CT when he was 25 years old.

Real Estate was his passion. Doug was owner of Land Concepts in Woodbury and known locally as 'The Land Man'. He was an active member of the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs for over 30 years. He loved traveling, especially to the Virgin Islands.

He leaves behind his wife Nancy and three children, Heather Ford and husband Thomas of Hamilton, MA, Dawn Pratt and husband Brad of Fairfield, CT and Robert Mackey and wife Louise of Houston, Texas, He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Molly Ford Beck and Teri Ford, Kate, Jessica and Lizzie Pratt and Conor and Matthew Mackey.
