Robert Kenward "Bucky" Lowe, 77, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home in Watertown. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Thomas) Lowe, his wife of 60 years. Robert was born March 19, 1937 Franklin, MA. He was a graduate of the Huntington Mills High School in Huntington Mills, PA. Robert was a research sales manager for Purina Lab Diets for over 40 years. Prior to that he was involved most of his earlier life in dairy farming, and as a young man worked for a time for Toplands Farm in Roxbury.
A Roxbury resident for 56 years, Robert was a member of the Roxbury Volunteer Fire Dept. serving for 52 years and was awarded an Honorary Life Time Membership. He was Co-Founder of Old Roxbury Days, originally founded to raise funds for a new firehouse. He served as a Roxbury Town Selectman for 16 years, serving with Barbara Henry and Russ Dirienzo, retiring in 2013. He served on the School Board for Regional District #12 for 11 years, the last 6 of which he was Chairman. He organized and was the first Chairman of the Roxbury Recreation Commission. He started the Roxbury Little League over 50 years ago and served as coach. He was a Cub Scout leader and a 4-H leader. He served as a Roxbury Town Constable and a Town Dog Warden. He served as President of the Roxbury Cemetery Association and was on the Roxbury Scholarship Foundation. Robert was a Trustee and Deacon for the Roxbury Congregational Church and was on the search committee that brought Rev. David Peters to Roxbury. For the last 17 years, another love of his life was his Scottish Highland Cattle and he served on the Board of the Northeast Highland Cattle Association. In 2012 he was named Volunteer of the Year for the Town of Roxbury and in 2013, upon his retirement as a town selectman; was awarded recognition for years of service by the Connecticut General Assembly. November 4th has been designated Robert "Bucky" Lowe Day in the Town of Roxbury.
Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his sons, Robert and his wife Penny, James and his wife Laura; his daughters, Cynthia and her husband Rich, Tricia and her husband Rob; his sister Janet Price and her husband William; his mother-in-law Dorothy Thomas; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Tamara.

Services: Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11: 00 a.m. at the Roxbury Congregational Church, Church St., Roxbury. Burial will follow in Roxbury Center Cemetery.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held Friday, January 2nd from 4 to 7 pm at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St. Woodbury, CT
