Woodbury- Robert (Bob) J. Horton, 71, found his peace on Tuesday February 8th, 2022 after a cancer illness. Bob was a Woodbury, CT resident for 35 years.
Bob was born in Norwalk, CT on November 24, 1950. Son of the late Elizabeth (Lacko) and Robert I. Horton. He was predeceased by his brother Gary Horton, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bob graduated Norwalk High in 1968. The following year he attended Woodstock. He served as a Justice of the Peace in Woodbury for several years. Bob worked for over 10 years at Eemax in Waterbury as a Compliance Engineer.
Bob was a true animal lover and cared for his dogs and cats. He was an avid reader of suspense novels and loved his classic rock. You would always be sure to hear some Grateful Dead if you were with him. Bob loved woodworking and had built some furniture for his home. He enjoyed many years of playing poker with his friends and also played setback weekly with the local Woodbury setback teams. He loved playing pool and played on the league at the Old Toll Gate Inn in Woodbury. He was passionate about the outdoors. Spent time fishing, hiking, camping, or just sharing stories and beer around a fire pit. More recent years he would be seen driving around with his camera taking pictures of old barns and scenery. Bob's football favorite was the Vikings and would proudly wear his Viking cap while watching the games.
Bob leaves behind very many friends, lifelong and some more recent. He was a master of trivia, was a called upon resource to settle a dispute and once applied to be on Jeopardy. He will be remembered for his laughter, wit, humor, generosity, and kindness, in addition to his flannel shirts and caps.
